Lions Club and SVOSH

Lions Clubs in the United States are the most important supporters of SVOSH. One way the Lions help us is by sponsoring students for our mission trip. Without the financial support of Lions Clubs across the country we would not be able to provide our much needed services. The Lions are also the biggest donors of glasses. During our annual trip we dispense thousands of glasses, a demand which is mostly met through the generous donations of Lions Clubs. In addition to our annual trip, we also work closely with Lions Clubs in the Memphis area to provide local vision screenings and reading programs.

Lions Clubs in our destination countries are also very important in accomplishing our mission because they arrange almost every detail of our stay. They provide transportation inside the country, take us into their homes and feed us, they set up our clinic, publicize our visit to the local population, help us through customs, arrange for translators, and much more. The Lions Clubs members treat us as part of their own families and many close friendships have developed over the years.
